Grand Opening of the INFOSEC Forum

Interhack announces the opening of the INFOSEC Forum, a web portal designed to facilitate better coordination of various information security initiatives in the Ohio region.

Recognizing the need to coordinate the many complementary efforts of information security associations and organizations throughout the area, the Central Ohio Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) began to organize a semiannual event known as the INFOSEC Forum in 2001. The brainchild of Mike Radigan, current Central Ohio ISSA president, the INFOSEC Forum has consistently brought people together from various chapters of ISSA, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), InfraGard (FBI's program to coordinate academia, industry, and government to protect the U.S. infrastructure), and other organizations to discuss the problems that face information security practitioners today and provide the means for them to support each other.

After five successful events, the INFOSEC Forum has taken another step forward in its efforts to bring high-quality, interactive programming to the area's information security practitioners. INFOSEC Forum VI will for the first time be coordinated under the direction of a program committee of the area's brightest information security practitionres. In conjunction with that event, the INFOSEC Forum portal is being launched at web.infosec-forum.org, where participants can comment on the program's content and continue to collaborate with their colleagues from other organizations between INFOSEC Forum meetings.

Interhack developed the INFOSEC Forum portal in conjunction with the Central Ohio Chapter of ISSA, and now proudly hosts and operates the site.
